Many Reservists may not be aware of the full importance of TFL and how this TFL benefit works with all of its benefits & options, at any civilian hospital or medical office, etc., starting ON THE DAY any Military Retiree & I.D. Card Holder TURNS age 65, TFL is available. TFL Coverage became official in approx. 1989, after lawyering to DOD & the U.S. Supreme Court. Even today, Many Reserve / Guard retirees, over 65, do not truly understand the TFL benefits. Reservists & Dependents CANNOT receive TFL, UNTIL they are 65, respectively.
