OLD BUSINESS - Approval of January 18 ZOOM Minutes - Approved as submitted.

Tom Froneberger mentioned that he has asked Mike Moose to request a letter from ROA-National clarifying the official name for ROA. This letter is needed to consolidate the name on all Department financial Accounts. Mike will follow up with ROA-HQ about ROA's Official name.

College Medal Awards - Mike mentioned that he has requested the ROA College Medals for the 21 NC college units. He will mail the Gold & Silver medals to each college as usual. The Univ. of North Carolina-Charlotte has requested an ROA member to attend their Awards Banquet, on 11 April 2024. Mike Moose will attend that event to present the 2 medals.

NEW BUSINESS

Monthly Financial Report - Tom - Reported our Current Assets. He is looking into

arrangements for using PayPal, for secure future Donations to our Department.

IRS Filing Status - Tom stated that our IRS status is still current for 2024.

Meeting Status - Iggi - The Annual Department Meeting is planned for Saturday - 13 July 2024 at the Fayetteville. HQ / Museum of the Fayetteville Independent Light Infantry - 1000 to 1500 hours.

Department Merger Discussion - Iggi, Tom and Mike stated that at this time, our Department is not planning to merge with any other Departments. North Carolina will continue to cooperate with all nearby States and keep in communication with them, even if other mergers occur. John Leonard was not able to attend this meeting. He did submit information on this topic. Please see John's e-comments at the end of this message.

Membership Outreach - Iggi mentioned that on 12 February, he will be speaking with a senior civilian with the HQ - 108th Division-USAR in Charlotte. Iggi will discuss the importance of ROA and that we will welcome members of the 108th to join ROA - North Carolina.

Other Business - ROA's SECOND CENTURY CAMPAIGN (special fund raising since 2015) Mike Moose mentioned that he has been in contact with ROA's National Council and also with the Marketing & Communications Committee. He has discussed with those ROA Leaders that he is concerned about the status of ROA's Second Century Campaign. Current information from ROA-HQ is that this Campaign never created a special fund account for the long-term use of these specific donations, to help ROA be financially prepared and secure for the next 100 Years. On 18 January, Mike learned that much of the Campaign donations so far, since 2015, have been used to pay for ROA's MONTHLY AND current expense! More info will be discussed on this important topic, as we are given full transparency, about this national Fund Raising Campaign
